Chairman of The Juvenile Committee of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie believes their initiative of making sure colts clubs in the country registers only school-going players in basic schools will give juvenile football a major boost. The Ghana Football Association has introduced a strategic educational reform that will be binding on all juvenile footballers in the country. This directive is to ensure that, the budding talents do not abandon their education as they seek to become professional footballers. George Afriyie, who doubles as an Executive Committee of the GFA, has hailed the approved measures. “They may be talented in football but it is also important that they don't miss their education because they are playing football. He told JOY Sports “If you want to pursue a career in football, it is very important that you get the basic education in order to be able to develop your talents”. “It’s very simple; if you are not in school, you will not be considered for registration to feature in the colts league.”
