Record six time champions Ahly lead a strong representation of North African clubs that also include five time champions and rivals Zamalek, reigning champions Esperance and Étoile Sahel both from Tunisia and new boys ASO Chlef from Algeria. Chelsea hope to have a memorable campaign in the group stage for the first time in the club’s history and International Relations Director Joe Addo is confident experiences from beating giants Raja Casablanca and Cotton Sport is good motivation to play any team. “Most of these teams are former champions and I wouldn’t underrate any team but with how far we have come in the tournament I strongly believe we can make it”.
