Miss Adjoa Serwaa Obeng, a 21-year-old from Canning Town in East London in the early hours of Sunday, October 25 was crowned as Miss Ghana UK 2015 at the famous Camden Centre in London.
From the opening choreography, Miss Obeng showed signs of brilliance and had the crowd rooting for her.
After about four hours of a competitive night which saw all fourteen (14) finalists putting up their very best, the Bachelor of Science, Finance and Accounting Management graduate of the Nottingham University got the nod ahead of her colleagues.
Apart from the prestigious Miss Ghana UK 2015 crown, she becomes the face of the Miss Ghana UK Foundation for the next twelve months and will carry out a series of activities aimed at human capacity development amongst young people across the United Kingdom.
She also wins a fully paid trip to Ghana where she will meet with stakeholders and key players within the Ghanaian education sector to discuss ways on raising the standards of education in the basic and elementary levels.
Whilst in Ghana, she will also make appearances at some public events and a media tour of selected media houses.
The first runner-up position went to Elizabeth Akua Maame Boatimah-Boampong of University of Law whilst Charlotte Adjei- Danso a performing Arts Student at Leyton 6th Form College took the second runner-up position.
The talent segment was exciting as all fourteen finalists gave a good show. In addition, music lovers who thronged the Camden Centre on the night were thrilled with back to back performances by some of the best musicians - Gifty Louise of X Factor UK 2015 fame, London based Eugy and Ghana music star, Dr. Slim.
As expected, the venue was packed to capacity with some of the most prominent personalities in the showbiz industry across the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe in attendance.
Over the years, Miss Ghana UK has become the biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant event across the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe with thousands of Ghanaians and other African nationals attending the big night every year.
