Pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance has commended government on the arrest of Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, the man at the centre of the GH51 million judgment debt payment saga.
The NDC bank roller was on Friday arrested and detained in BNI cells following a directive from President John Evans Atta Mills.
AFAG’s Director in Charge of research, Davis Opoku suggested that all those implicated in the Economic and Organized Crime Office [EOCO] report should be arrested irrespective of their political affiliations.
“If the President really wants to tackle this issue then he should arrest all persons involved in this issue whether they belong to NDC or NPP.”
He specifically called for the immediate arrest of the Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Kwabena Duffour and Mr. Barton Oduro, Deputy Minister for Justice and Attorney General Department.
“We wonder why the likes of Kwabena Duffour, Barton Oduro and all those who contributed to this financial loss to the state are still at post.”
He said, “We seriously think that people have done a great disservice to the state and there is the need for them to be punished.”
