Outspoken New Patriotic Party MP Kennedy Agyapong has predicted doom and gloom for the National Chairman and General Secretary stating, the two have "signed their death warrant" as the largest opposition party continues to be mired in open rebellion against and amongst its national executives.

Speaking with a tone of finality, the Assin South MP told Western regional party delegates in Tarkwa: "I feel sad for [Paul] Afoko. I feel sad for [Kwabena] Agyapong. They should sleep over it and consider that people brought them to power and you know something? They have signed their death warrant"

The NPP has been in turmoil for some time now. Things got to a head when some thugs wielding machetes and weapons invaded the party's headquarters in Accra to disrupt a news conference that was being last Tuesday. It took police intervention to restore law and order.

The national executives have turned guns at each other in an orgy of blame games after the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong issued a directive for the Acting Communications Director, Perry Okudzeto to proceed on two years’ accumulated leave.

His decision received the blessing and backing of national chairman, Paul Afoko. The two are also backed by Second Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe.

But, lining up in opposition are 1st National Vice - Chairman Freddie Blay, National Youth Organiser Sammy Awuku, Immediate-past Youth Organiser, Anthony Karbo; the list of opposition keeps growing.

They all accuse Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong of autocratic leadership.

Weighing into the issue, power-broker and a controversial voice in the party, Kennedy Agyapong who was campaigning with aspirant for 2016 flagbearer Nana Addo told the delegates from 26 constituencies in the region "It hurts me to see the Chairman and General secretary pushed around".

With characteristic passion he warned that  "if they joke with the party, they should mark it on the wall, they won't last a year, they will be removed."

Waging war against national executives deemed a liability is not alien to Kennedy Agyapong.

The businessman last January said he was setting aside US$20million to see that then incumbent Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-lamptey and General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie were defeated.

With a few exceptions, many of the national executives lost their positions.

Kennedy has warned the current party Chairman and General Secretary to learn from the misfortune of the previous national executives.

"If I were any of them, I would learn a lesson from what happened to Jake and his other executives".

He warned again that anybody who tires to scuttle the party's chances of winning 2016 presidential elections will be brushed aside.
