Black Stars deputy captain Andre Ayew’s stunning strike at Crystal Palace last Saturday has been shortlisted for the English Premier League Goal of the Month of October.
Ayew's 43rd-minute goal at Selhurst Park rounded off a successful month for the Ghana international, who also notched twice in the Carabao Cup victory at Tottenham Hotspur.
His effort is among eight goals in contention for the accolade following an announcement on Friday.
Ayew intercepted a pass halfway, and on a solo run, turned Scott Dann inside out before unleashing a rocket into the top left corner of the net from outside the box to put the Irons 2-0 up.

However, West Ham threw away the two-goal lead to share the spoils with Crystal Palace.
Ayew faces competition from the likes of Liverpool’s Phillippe Coutinho who netted an absolute beauty at Newcastle United.
Pedro’s goal for Chelsea against Watford is also in the running as is Sofiane Boufal's individual effort for Southampton against West Bromwich Albion.
Jamie Vardy's goal for Leicester City against Everton could also emerge winner while the Manchester City trio of Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane are all in the race for goals in a 7-2 thumping of Stoke City.
To be decided by votes, the winner of the award will be announced on November 10.
