Ghana's Apostolic Fathers have issued a declaration in support of President John Dramani Mahama, praising his stance on cultural values and sovereignty following the withdrawal of an honorary degree by a U.S. university.
In a statement signed by Bishop Dr. Gideon Titi-Ofei on behalf of 18 Apostolic Fathers, the group commended Mahama for his "principled stance against the promotion of LGBTQI+ ideologies" and his commitment to Ghana's legislative process.
The Lincoln University in Pennsylvania had reportedly withdrawn the honorary doctorate citing "additional information" but did not provide details.
The Fathers' declaration described Mahama's leadership as "a reflection of courage, quiet yet unyielding, firm yet measured, and principled yet respectful."
