Aqua Vitens Rand has justified why its contract to manage urban water supply should be renewed.
The performance of the firm, which has been in charge of the system for the past four years, has come under intense scrutiny by stakeholders in the water sector.
The contract is due for renewal and several options have been offered to government on the way forward, except that AVRL is not in the picture.
But Country Manager Martin Nisse explains AVRL deserves a renewal.
He said the mechanisms being put in place to improve water supply in the country was a process in progress and must not be truncated.
