Sarah Kwabla, 23-year-old shop attendant, is planning to sue media houses which published her image with stories that claimed she was carrying Asamoah Gyan’s child.
The resident of Nima, who looked visibly shattered by the development, says she will seek redress in the courts after several media houses wrongfully used her image for their publications.
News went viral on social media and online sites Wednesday that Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has been accused of sodomy.
The report said Sarah Kwabla, a 22-year-old student of the University of Ghana, claims the player forcibly had sex with her through her anus while she bled profusely but has refused to take responsibility for his actions.
She also claims to be pregnant as a result of the sexual intercourse.
Miss Kwabla is alleged to have demanded Asamoah Gyan to get her a furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly stipend of $1,000 for postnatal care.
However, the Black Stars captain has refused to accept the conditions describing the girl's actions as blackmail. The Odorkor police have since begun investigations into the allegations.
But just when the controversy will sink in, a new twist has emerged. The lady whose picture was used to accompany the stories has told Joy FM she is not the one. She has never met Gyan before, she confirmed.
The young woman who feels scandalised by the use of her picture came to the studios of Joy FM in a bid to clear her dented personality.
She told Joy FM's Francis Abban she bears the same name as the one said to have been sodomised by Gyan and suspects the media houses in question may have fetched her image from Facebook for their publications without cross checking to find out if she was the one.
“The picture there is me but I’m not the one who they are talking of. I don’t even know Asamoah Gyan. I’ve not met him before. I have nothing doing with him,” she cried out.
Sarah disclosed to Myjoyonline.com that she is currently in consultations to take legal action against all media outfits that published her image.
