Mighty Jets have been credited 3 points and 3 goals by Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association following a protest against AshantiGold.
The ruling by the DC also deducted AshantiGold 3 points and 3 goals over happenings in their match-day-25 fixture on April 24, 2011 at the Akosombo Park.
Jets filed a case claiming that:
- AshantiGold failed to present their registered away stripe at the pre-match conference.
- AshantiGold played in registered home stripe in the 25th week match on 24th April, 2011.
- That, the conduct of AshantiGold is contrary to Article 17(1) (b) and (c) of the GFA Regulations.
The DC upheld the arguments by Mighty Jets and gave its ruling, stating: "The protest of Mighty Jets therefore succeeds since there's no evidence the jersey AshantiGold wore for the match was presented at the pre-match meeting.
"In the circumstances, AshantiGold FC accordingly, forfeits the match under Article 34 (1) (k) of the GFA Rules and Regulations.
"In accordance therefore with Article 34 (4) (b) of the GFA Rules and Regulations, AshantiGold is declared losers and is to suffer deductions of 3 points and 3 goals from its accumulated points.
"Mighty Jets is to be awarded 3 points and 3 goals."
