Bel-Aqua Mineral Water has donated ¢500,000 to the Covid-19Trust Fund set up by government to aid the fight against the ensuing coronavirus Pandemic in Ghana.
This is part of the company’s elaborate efforts to augment government’s strategies deployed to fight the pandemic.
The donation includes 1000 packs of Bel-Aqua Mineral Water to frontline health workers to keep them hydrated while they deliver essential health services to Ghanaians.
In a presentation to Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Opare, and other government officials at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, the management of Bel-Aqua Mineral Water expressed solidarity to Ghanaians in such a trying time and pledged their support in the fight.
“As an indigenous Ghanaian Company that has operated in Ghana for the last decade, we feel the need to contribute our widow’s mite in the fight against this common enemy that is threatening to alter our lives as we know it. “
“Bel-Aqua is grateful to the people of Ghana for their continued support over the years, and cannot abandon them when they need us the most.
"This is certainly not the time to hold back the cash when people’s lives are under threat by Covid-19”, Emmanuel Quist, the Head of Communications for Bel-Aqua said.
The delegation from Bel-Aqua comprising directors of the company, Dhiraj and Manoj Lakhiani, Head of Marketing Raj Mirpuri also expressed concern for the socially vulnerable whose livelihoods are currently being affected by the ramifications of Covid-19.
“More importantly, we are making this cash donation of ¢500,000 as a contribution to government’s social intervention plans to alleviate the difficulties posed by Covid-19 on Ghanaians living below the poverty line, whose livelihoods depend on their daily economic activities”, Mr Quist stressed.
On the part of government, the Chief of Staff expressed government’s gratitude to Bel-Aqua for the laudable contribution to the Covid-19 Trust Fund.
She also recognized the economic and social contributions the company has made continually to the development of Ghana.
Bel-Aqua has also donated vital products like hand gloves, face masks and hand sanitizers, cleaning detergents as well as packs of Bel-Aqua Mineral water and assorted beverages worth ¢100,000.00) to the police, military and the Tema General Hospital.
This brings the company’s total contribution to the fight against Covid-19 to ¢600,000.
