The Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Ghana, (WiSTEM Gh) has extended financial support to the Covid-19 Trust Fund.
The undisclosed package is part of the association’s contribution to fighting the virus.
The pandemic has brought to fore the need for communities to be sustained more than ever.
WiSTEM Gh had earlier donated to the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research into Tropical Medicine to boost its activities.
Secretary of the association, Dr Mercy Badu said members were encouraged to support the national agenda to bring an end to the scare.
“We all know how the whole nation was put in a state of fear. And considering the fact that issues to do with this pandemic are very expensive, we thought of it and decided to bring our individual contributions together and give it out to the National Covid-19 fund,” she said.
Acting Ashanti Regional Coordinating Director, Joseph Donkor noted any amount any way will augment the government’s efforts.
“There’s nothing small in this case. Whatever is given will support government agenda. Government is doing its best but they cannot do it alone,” he said.
