Ghana’s Christian Atsu could be joining Premier League entrant Bournemouth in a loan .deal next season.
Reports in the English media claim Bournemouth have made a move for a season long loan deal with Chelsea and are hoping to land the winger who is just ending a similar spell at Everton.
Atsu was acquired by Chelsea in September 2013 for £3.5m from FC Porto but he is yet to officially feature for the club.
He spent his first season as a Chelsea player on loan at Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem – a successful spell it was but the second in England and with Everton, for this just ended season, turned out more of a nightmare.
The 23-year-old started just one game and played a total of 110 minutes in the Premier League for the Toffees.
With no sign of a possible loan renewal, the winner of the Most Valuable Player at the 2015 Afcon with Ghana has thanked the Toffees for the time spent with the club this past season.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Everton for making me feel welcome during my time there this season,” Atsu posted on his official Twitter account.
"The fans, the staff, my teammates have all been very supportive.
"I’m sorry that things didn’t work out for me but I must look forward and am keen to take the next step in my football career. God bless everyone."
It is expected that Chelsea who have no immediate plans to rope Atsu in their squad for next season would be keen for him to go out on loan again but to a club where he is more likely to play.
