Treasurer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Charles Dwamena, popularly known as Dr. ‘China,’ has rallied members of the party to strengthen their support for the party and its flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to Constituency Officers and Electoral Area Coordinators over the weekend, Dr. ‘China’ emphasized the need for unity and active engagement to ensure a successful election outcome.
Using the metaphor of a road trip, Dr. Dwamena likened the election campaign to a journey where the road, driver, and vehicle are crucial.
“The road is motorable, and our driver, Dr. Bawumia, has the necessary experience to lead us to victory. However, the vehicle—our party—must be in top shape, and that requires every member's contribution,” he said.

The NPP National Treasurer highlighted the importance of paying membership dues, noting that it not only provides financial support to the party but also strengthens members’ sense of belonging.
He urged local executives to prioritize educating members on the dues-paying process, stressing that their contributions would ensure the party’s readiness for the upcoming election.
As part of his ongoing tour of constituencies in the Ashanti Region, Dr. ‘China’ visited Manhyia South, Atwima Nwabiagya, Oforikrom, and Subin constituencies, bringing his total constituency visits to 79.

He praised the dedication of constituency executives, who have been working tirelessly to rally support for the NPP’s “Breaking the 8” agenda, and assured them that their efforts would be recognised and rewarded if the party retains power in 2024.
Constituency executives expressed gratitude for Dr. ‘China’s’ hands-on leadership, with many vowing to intensify their campaigning efforts for Dr. Bawumia.
They also underscored the importance of highlighting the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration as a key message for securing victory in the upcoming elections.
