Daniel Aboagye, a cyclist, died at the Okomfo Anokye Hospital after being knocked down by a car on the Nkawkaw/Kumasi road.
Mr James Sarfo Peprah, the Eastern Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), told the GNA that on January 22, Pius Antwi was driving a taxi from Nkawkaw towards Amanfrom on the Nkawkaw-Kumasi road.
At the Kweku Dwera junction, the car knocked down Aboagye who was riding a bicycle.
The cyclist and the driver both sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment, he said.
Mr Peprah said the cyclist was however referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi where he died the next day.
