Ghana U23 coach David Duncan has named two foreign-based players Sadick Adams and Quincy Osei in his final squad for this week’s Wafu Cup of Nations in Nigeria.
The rest of the 18-man squad is made up of players in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Ashantigold and Heart of Lions dominate the team with three players each from the Obuasi side and Kpando-based respectively.
League leaders Berekum Chelsea have two players in strikers Bismark Idan and defender Edward Kpodo while giants Kotoko have two players in Mohammed Sabato and Nathaniel Asamoah.
Struggling giants Hearts of Oak have no players in the team as well as Medeama Sporting Club.
Duncan has named a squad that he hopes can redeem his image as a good coach after his team bombed out of the Olympic Games qualifiers.
David Duncan’s Black Meteors are also paired in the same group with Senegal and Gambia for the ten-day championship which begins on May 5 an runs till May 15, 2011.
The WAFU championship would serve as a good build up towards the Olympic team’s qualifying campaign for a place at this year’s All Africa Games.
Hosts, Nigeria kick off the championship in Group A against Mali while Niger and Liberia also play in the other group game.
Ghana will be playing with its U23 squad at the tournament.
