Joy Business has gathered that the much anticipated commercial production of crude from the Jubilee field is expected to begin in the first week of December.
However the symbolic celebration date for commissioning by the President is set for the third week of December.
The proposed date is December 15.
According to Joy Business sources, on-going test production by Jubilee operator, Tullow Oil to assess equipment and processes ahead of the commercial production date have proven successful.
Production is meanwhile set at about 50 thousand barrels a day moving up to the optimum capacity of 120 thousand barrels a day by June next year.
The Jubilee field is estimated to hold as much as 1.8 billion barrels of oil.
