The Consumer Protection Agency is kicking against the increase in the price of sachet water.
A sachet is now selling at 10 pesewas, up from 5 pesewas following an agreement reached by the producers.
Chief Executive of the Consumer Protection Agency, Kofi Kapito, tells Joy News the hundred percent jump is too high.
He said the price increase should not be nationwide because in his view, the standard of living in Accra is markedly different from that in Tamale.
Mr Capito said the various municipal assemblies should be a more central role in determining the price of the commodity in their locality.
Consumers have similarly complained about the price increase.
