Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Alhassan Andani, has predicted that there will be a paradigm shift in the way the corporate world functions after the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the renowned economist, the corporate world - post-COVID-19 - will answer the question “is work something to do or a place to come to?”
“After COVID-19 we will find that work is something to do, not a place to come to.
"So we can get a lot of work done at very convenient locations. People will still have a family life and still do brilliant work,” he said Thursday on the business edition of PM Express on the JoyNews channel on MultiTV.
Across the world and in Ghana, companies are encouraging their staff to either take their mandatory leave or work from home in a bid to encourage social distancing said to limit spread of the deadly virus.
Google, Microsoft, Twitter among others have rolled out mandatory work-from-home policies amid the spread of coronavirus.
Mr Andani also said the lifting of charges on e-banking transactions by Ghanaian banks will both reduce the financial stress occasioned by the pandemic and also get people to do more e-transactions.
“This might even leapfrog the world into the Fourth Industrial Age where everything is digital and digital-driven,” he said.
