Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o has asked the Italian giants to buy Ghana mdifielder Kwadwo Asamoah if they are to make an impact next season.
Inter lost their title to AC Milan in a season which midfielders were not able to supply the Cameroonian attacker with the needed services to bang in the goals.
The world champions are now in the market for a new midfielder to provide cover for the ageing Dejan Stankovic and Esteban Cambiasso.
Eto’o thinks that the 22-year-old Ghanaian, who was influential in Udinese’s season, represents the perfect addition.
“Why don’t we attempt to sign Asamoah from Udinese,” Eto’o reportedly told the club’s directors after last Sunday’s Coppa Italia win over Palermo.
Asamoah started his professional career with Liberty Professionals and was also under contract with Bellinzona and Torino before joining Udinese.
He has developed into a key player in Udinese and his good performances have gathered transfer attention from elsewhere.
The energetic midfielder has also been linked with a move to Serie A champions AC Milan, but with Asamoah’s current contract running until the summer of 2015, he will not be available on the cheap.
