Kotoko interim coach Michael Osei has praised the resilience of his side after they overturned a losing position to progress to the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup competition.
The Kumasi giants fought back bravely in the second half after Storm FC went ahead, and the Porcupine Warriors were rewarded with a Bennett Ofori equaliser that took the game to penalties.
Kotoko converted all their five kicks with the academy side scoring three out of four to go out of the competition.
“I am hugely impressed with our progress to the next stage of the competition, we showed a lot of character and determination in coming back to record this win," Osei said after the game.
“The boys showed great fighting spirit against a very difficult side who were determined to cause an upset against a big club, and, kudos to them for fighting hard to redeem our image,” he added.
“We will now go and prepare for our next game, and, I am equally confident that we will produce a result,” the former Ghana international noted.
LIBERTY HAPPY WITH SOLIDITY

Coach of Liberty Professionals, George Lamptey has hailed their progress to the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup and, said, it proves their character as a club.
The Dansoman side beat Division One outfit, Samartex FC 1-0 in their own backyard to advance to the last eight of the competition on Saturday.
Benjamin Arthur scored the lone goal for the Ghana Premier League side to end the unbeaten home run of Samartex this season.
In the earlier round, Samartex caused the biggest upset of the games as they knocked out Hearts of Oak from the competition and, going into the game, were confident of taking down another big gun.
“We are satisfied with this win, and, I am confident that we will go all the way to the final and win it,” the former Ghana international side after the game.
