The first Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana Dr. Zakari Mumuni has formally assumed the role of Chairman, Advisory Board, Colleague of Humanities at the University of Ghana.
Dr. Mumuni assumed the role after the members of the board were inaugurated at a program at the University of Ghana.
The Advisory Board of the College of Humanities at the University of Ghana provides strategic guidance to ensure the college's relevance, sustainability, and alignment with global trends.
Composed of external professionals, it acts as a strategic partner to enhance teaching, research, and student training for the world of work .
Speaking at the programme, Dr. Mumuni described the appointment, as an honour and therefore, expressed his sincere appreciation to the University council and management for the confidence placed in him and rest of the members to serve this distinguished College.
He noted that “As an alumnus, I regard this appointment as both a privilege and an opportunity to contribute to an institution that continues to shape generations of scholars and professionals in Ghana and beyond”.

Dr. Mumuni noted that “evolving expectations of society require universities to demonstrate greater relevance, responsiveness, and innovation in teaching, research, and community”.
The first Deputy Governor in this speech also stated that “this role, therefore, is more than a mandate; it is a responsibility to support the continued growth and strength of the institution that has influenced so many of us”.
