Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings have issued an unequivocal disclaimer to posters splashed nationwide advertising the former first lady as presidential candidate for the 2012 elections.
Many Ghanaians woke up Sunday to see radiant posters of smiling Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings on walls and any available advertisement space calling on Ghanaians to rescue the NDC and its foot soldiers in the 2012 elections.
It is not clear who posted them; what is clear, though is that the same tactics was used prior to Mrs Rawlings declaring her intention to file for the NDC flagbearership race.
Aides to the ex-first lady have dissociated themselves from the posters, living many to guess who was responsible for posting them.
Ernest Owusu Bempah told Joy News’ Dzifa Bampoh “FONKAR has no hand in what is going on.”
He said “FONKAR has not issued any poster” and “does not know who is behind this.”
He would not speculate on who is behind it, except to say it may well be tactics to divert attention from the controversial Woyome saga.
He however stated that Mrs Rawlings has every right to contest the 2012 elections if she so chooses.
