Ghana winger Frank Acheampong inspired Shenzhen FC to an impressive comeback win over Meizhou Hakka on Sunday in the Chinese Super League.
He scored one goal and provided two assists as Shenzhen FC came from two goals down to win 3-2 in front of almost a 10,000 Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center.
The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute through Chaosheng Yang, who was assisted by Weihui Rao. Meizhou Hakka doubled their lead in the 32nd minute through Ximin Pan, who was once again assisted by Rao.
Acheampong pulled one goal back for Shenzhen FC in the 74th minute after receiving a lobbed pass at the left side of attack before racing past two defenders to slot in with precision.
He then set up Yuan Zhang to equalize in the 76th minute. With four minutes left to play, Acheampong provided the assist for Yue Liu to score the winning goal to complete the comeback.
The victory moves Shenzhen FC up to tenth place in the Chinese Super League table with 11 points from 10 games.
Acheampong has been in fine form for Shenzhen FC since the start of the 2023 season. The 29-year-old has scored four goals and provided two assists in 10 outings.
