Ghana has moved up to the 22nd position in the latest FIFA Ranking released on Wednesday.
Even though Ghana lost four points from 820 to 816, the Black Stars moved a place up after occupying the 23rd spot for the past two months.
Ghana begins the qualifying campaign of the 2014 World Cup in June but remained the second best on the continent behind Cote d’Ivoire.
North Africans Algeria stayed at the third position with Mali overtaking African champions, Zambia to occupy the fourth slot in Africa.
Twenty-four matches were taken into account for the April edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, three-quarters of which were played at the AFC Challenge Cup.
