Defending World champions Ghana failed to qualify for this year’s Fifa World Cup in Colombia after exiting the African Youth Championship on Sunday.The Black Satellites drew 1-1 with leaders Cameroon in their final Group B match and could not advance to the semi-final stage, a qualification mark for the Fifa World Cup.Striker Kwame Nsor got the opener on 21 minutes when he fired home from inside the box but Mbongo equalized with an unmarked header in added on time.Ghana lost 2-1 to Nigeria in their opener; rallied to draw one-all with Gambia and ended the tournament with two points to finish third in the Group.The West Africans under Sellas Tetteh conquered Africa at the last championship in Rwanda and went to win the 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.The Satellites failure completes a quartet of disappointments for Ghana national team after the home-based national were humiliated in Sudan at the CHAN, the Under-23 team were knocked out Sudan in the London 2012 Olympics and the national women’s team also crashed out from the London Olympics.Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali and Egypt will represent the continent at this year’s World Cup to be held in Colombia.Source: Ghanasoccernet
