Oil Marketing Company, GOIL PLC, has donated an amount of ¢150,000 to the Osu Children’s Home in Accra.
The donation follows a request from the orphanage regarding challenges being faced by the home including payment of accumulated electricity bills.
The accumulated bills, according to management of the home, has resulted in the children sleeping in darkness.
Presenting the cheque to the orphanage, Group Chief Executive and Managing Director of GOIL, Kwame Osei Prempeh, said the donation which forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is geared towards supporting the upkeep of the children
He explained that ¢100,000 is expected to help the management in the running of the home while GHC 50,000 will help settle their electricity bills.
He also added that there was a need for the children of the orphanage to have quality life.
The Director of the Osu Children’s Home, Yvonne Norman, expressed appreciation to GOIL and said the donation will go a long way to mitigate the challenges faced by the home.
