The Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Edward Bawa, has described the ongoing fuel price competition with Star Oil as beneficial to both consumers and players within the petroleum industry.
According to Mr. Bawa, the competitive pricing environment is driving efficiency among oil marketing companies while ensuring that consumers enjoy more affordable fuel prices.
He noted that GOIL has deliberately kept its prices at reasonable levels, even when it means absorbing some financial pressure, in order to provide relief to customers.

“We have tried to keep prices at reasonable prices. We should be able to take some hit to ensure some bit of respite to the consumer. We want the consumer to also enjoy, and this is about efficiency. The price war benefits the consumer, and I also benefit positively,” he stated.
Mr. Bawa made these remarks during a visit to the GOIL filling station at 37 in Accra as part of activities marking GOIL Pride Day, an initiative celebrating Ghana Month.

GOIL Pride Day is aimed at strengthening engagement with customers and staff while promoting the company’s brand as a proudly Ghanaian oil marketing firm.
The initiative also highlights GOIL’s commitment to national development and its role in supporting the country’s energy needs, while giving customers the chance to enjoy special promotions and activities during the celebration.
