The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has announced that it will take the 161kV Akosombo–Nkawkaw transmission line out of service from Sunday, October 5, to Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
According to the company, the temporary shutdown is to allow for the relocation of two transmission towers along the Kumasi–Accra highway.
The relocation has become necessary to make way for ongoing road expansion works by the Ghana Highway Authority.
GRIDCo assured consumers that arrangements have been made to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the period.
The company also noted that engineers will remain on standby to respond swiftly in the unlikely event of any incident.
The power transmission firm apologised for any inconvenience the exercise may cause the public and expressed its commitment to maintaining reliable service.
