Asamoah Gyan will hold talks with boss Steve Bruce about his Sunderland future after an offer was made to sign the player from the Black Cats.
Sources say, the Ghana striker will have the talks with his club next week when he returns for pre-season training.
The identity of the club which has made the offer is not known but it is thought to be a big club in Europe with a big offer.
Zenit St. Petersburg are known to be keen admirers of the Ghana striker especially after Emmanuel Adebayor turned down a move to the Russian giants.
The attacker had stated last week that he was not interested in leaving the Black Cats after enjoying his first season at the English side.
But fevered speculations about the future of the striker continues with several clubs including Tottenham and Arsenal said to be interested.
Now his agent has confirmed that an offer has been made to sign the Ghana striker from the Black Cats.
His agent Fabien Pivateau said: “I can’t say if he is staying or not.
“As far as I know one club has tabled an offer. He is returning to the club for pre-season and we will sit down with the coach to talk about it.”
The offer tabled by the unknown club will test Gyan’s resolve of staying with the beloved Black Cats.
Gyan who has openly declared his love of Sunderland could quit the club, a year after his £13 million move from Rennes.
