Second wife of embattled Proprietor of the Great Lamptey Mills School says the dropping of the charge of rape against her husband for rape by state prosecutors has vindicated her.
Priscilla Agyei had earlier held that the rearrest of Mr Lamptey-Mills was unnecessary and the charge pressed against wrong.
The lady at the centre of the controversy was thought to be underage when she was impregnated by Mr Lamptey-Mills, resulting in a child some years ago.
On Monday, she grew increasingly despondent over the re-arrest of her child's father, claiming the case had previously been dealt with in court and thought Lamptey-Mills was being harassed unnecessarily.
The young lady, who is now wife of the former national award holder, tells Asempa News state prosecutors dropping the charges against her husband testifies to the view she has always held that her husband was wrongfully charged; and that she is grateful to government.
Priscilla Agyei says she was present when Mr. Enoch Lamptey-Mills was released by authorities.
She tells Asempa News even though the last few days have been traumatizing for her she will muster the courage to write her West African Senior Secondary School Examinations which come off next month.
Ms. Agyei says she will not be bothered by negative comments of some members of the general public, hinting such comments have a short lifespan.
Nii Lamptey-Mills was arrested on Wednesday, August 18 and placed in police custody while the Attorney-General's office readied to send him to court, but Priscilla Adjei, thought to be 16 years and a student of the school when she got pregnant by Lamptey-Mills, says she consented to have sex with her proprietor.
