A group of Ivorian paramilitary officers has been transported to Accra after they crossed the border into Ghana. The soldiers entered Ghana through the Brong Ahafo Region. They were identified amongst refugees fleeing the post-election conflict in the Ivory Coast. The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander, ACP Isaac Quainoo, told Joy News it was difficult to tell the exact number because the situation was fluid and that people were entering the country every minute. He said the police were screening all Ivorians entering Ghana and identifying and separating civilian refugees from the security forces from La Cote d’Ivoire. ACP Quainoo said the police also seized some weapons from the Ivorian soldiers. It is unclear what the security agencies intend to do with the men from Ivory Coast. Source: Joy News/Ghana
