The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced that it will suspend all academic and administrative activities on Thursday, 18th September 2025, in compliance with a directive from the Manhyia Palace.
The directive, which affects shops, schools, and corporate institutions across Kumasi, is part of arrangements towards the final burial rites of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Asantehemaa.
A statement issued by the University informed members of the campus community that all university offices will remain closed for the day.

Additionally, all shops and commercial entities operating within the University are expected to observe the directive and cease operations accordingly.
Normal work and academic activities are scheduled to resume on Friday, 19th September 2025.
