Lawyer for investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his boss Kwaku Baako Junior says he is ready to face frozen foods importer, Servistar, in court over its defamation suit against the two.
The company which was implicated in the recent video exposé over corrupt dealings at the Tema Port is seeking damages to the tune of half a million Ghana cedis for what it says were false publications about its tax obligations.
Lawyers for Servistar have secured an order for substituted service against Anas and the Kweku Baako Media Company to try to compel them to show up in court to defend the publication.
The move allegedly follows the inability of bailiffs to serve a writ of summons on the two.
But their lawyer, Egbert Faibille, says the order was needless because he has already made a conditional appearance in court and even countersued.
