With the top four teams in the English Premier League set to play today, 2015/16 champions – Leicester City – bungled the chance to climb into the top half of the log, as Stoke City came from behind twice to claim a point in their thrilling game played at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

Liverpool continued their stay in the win column for the second straight week with a perfect counter-attacking performance that saw them thrash West Ham by four goals to one, and Burnley raised their points haul on the road thus far to 11points following a lone goal win at Southampton.

Saturday’s La Liga action saw Barcelona needing two goals from striker Palco Alcacer to claim full spoils against Sevilla on Lionel Messi’s 600^th appearance for the Catalan club. 

Midfielder Thomas Partey scored for the second time in five days as he struck a stoppage-time winner to help Atletico Madrid nick a narrow win at Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.

Bayern Munich cruised to a 3-1 victory over title rivals Borussia Dortmund on Saturday to open a four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga. Arjen Robben fired the champions ahead with a curling effort from just inside the area before Robert Lewandowski made it 2-0 from Joshua Kimmich's pass. David Alaba added the third.
