Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has revealed a plan to drive industrialisation in Accra, particularly in Amasaman if he wins the upcoming presidential elections.
According to him, his plans to industrialise Amasaman aligns with the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy policy, which he believes will be a cornerstone in tackling the country’s unemployment crisis.
As part of his campaign, Mr Mahama has actively engaged with voters across several constituencies, including Amasaman, Domeabra-Obom, Trobu, and Anyaa-Sowutuom.
The NDC flagbearer promised to transform the Amasaman-Suhum stretch into a designated industrial zone, designed to attract investors and foster the establishment of new factories.
“Everyone goes to Tema to put up a factory. We’ll arrange this place when we come into power. Whoever would want to put up a factory would come and put it here. We’ll designate the Amasaman-Suhum stretch as an industrial zone, and they’ll operate under the 24-hour economy policy.”
