Special Assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports has described the “do or die” comment by former President John Dramani Mahama as an incitement for the youth to rise up to violence.
According to Jamaludeen A. Abdullah, the comments come as an unwholesome call for innocent followers of the political leader to yield to violence amidst the unrest that is already hovering in the country.
“…Mahama knows his followers will listen him, why is he inciting them to take the elections as a do or die affair?,” he said.
Speaking on the Prime Morning Show, Thursday, Mr. Abdullah insinuated that the former President is demonstrating an unusual thirst to return to the Jubilee house, so much so that it seems as though, there is something he ought to take away from the jubilee house that he did not.
“…If there is something in the Jubilee House that Mahama left, he should tell us so we bring it to him.”
Mr. Mahama during his 'Thank You Tour', told a Techiman-based radio station, Akina FM, that the NDC was robbed but it had to accept the verdict for the sake of peace.
He further stated that the 2024 elections would be won or lost at the polling station and thus, it will be a do or die affair.
But Mr. Abdullah has urged the youth of Ghana to eschew violence and avoid being used as a tool of destruction.
