The Ministry of the Interior on Wednesday released the list of relief items distributed to flood victims in the three northern regions and the Western Region.
A letter by Nana Obiri Boahen, Minister of State, to the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Task Force, said items sent so far to the disaster areas comprised items purchased by the government and those donated by the foreign governments, international organisations, NGOs and individuals.
Items distributed included food items, building materials, plastic buckets, mattresses, generators and tents. Other items were generators, portable water tanks, mosquito nets and used clothing.
Floods after heavy rains devastated large areas in the northern regions where more than 50 people were killed and tens of thousands displaced. Food, crops, houses, roads and bridges were also damaged.
