A severe road accident was recorded on the Ejisu Manhyia/Adadientem stretch in the Ashanti Region involving a Ford bus with registration number AS 9856-22 and an articulated truck with registration number AS 5296-16.
The collision left the Ford bus badly mangled, trapping its driver inside the wreckage. It took the effort of passers-by at the scene to rescue the driver, who sustained serious injuries to the head and face. The injured driver has been identified only as Kojo.

Kojo was rushed to the Ejisu Government Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention. A doctor at the facility, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that medical personnel are expected to perform further procedures on the head lacerations to determine the full extent of the injuries.

The articulated truck involved in the accident, with registration number AS 5296-16, was being driven by Muntari Konaba. Preliminary reports indicate that a brake failure on the articulated truck was responsible for the accident.

Investigations have been launched into the incident as concerns continue to rise over road safety and vehicle maintenance along the Ejisu Manhyia/Adadientem road.
