The MountCrest University College (MountCrest) has been commended by Ghana’s General Legal Council (GLC) and the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for improvements in its educational facilities.

The University, in a recent report issued and signed by the Chairperson of the General Legal Council, Justice Anin Yeboah who doubles as the Chief Justice of Ghana on the assessment of tertiary institutions that offer legal education in the country, was noted for its efforts to maintain smaller class sizes among other achievements.

The report took note of the significant improvements achieved by the University since the previous monitoring exercise in 2016, which include its efforts to maintain a Faculty staff-student ratio of 1:12 [against an approved staff-student ratio of 1:27 by the GLC], increased staff strength, adoption of strategies to upgrade its staff to attain terminal degrees and also, for acquiring a well-stocked library with relevant law text books and law reports.

Reacting to the report, Mr. Kwaku Ansa-Asare, the Founder of MountCrest, who is also a former Director of Legal Education at the Ghana School of Law, said he and his team, as well as students of the University are humbled by the positive comments made in the report.

He stressed management’s commitment to the vision of MountCrest of the Institution which is “to become a world-class teaching and research university, educating for life and addressing the challenges facing contemporary society”.

Deputy Rector of the Institution in charge of Institutional Advancement, Corporate and International Affairs, Mrs. Irene Ansa-Asare Horsham who also expressed her gratitude, further disclosed that the Institution has put in place some measures to support students to adequately prepare for the 2020 Law Entrance Exam.

According to her, the University has designed a special four-week course for students, aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills for preparing and writing the Ghana School of Law entrance examination.  

The course will focus on academic writing skills for law examinations and will run from Tuesday, June 30 to Saturday, July 25, 2020.

It will be held three times per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on a Virtual Learning Platform that is accessible online via mountcrestonline.com.
