A show that will bring on one stage, a combination of varying themes like live band, orchestra, traditional instruments, PA for a DJ and a choir has been launched in Accra. Dubbed Mr. Versatile, the show is a musical performance that seeks to promote classic entertainment and position rapper Okyeame Kwame as an all-round performer.
The concept according to Okyeame Kwame stems from his latest track, Mr. Versatile. In an exclusive chat with Showbiz at the press launch in Accra, the multiple award-winning musician, Kwame Nsiah Appau, known in the music industry as Okyeame Kwame said the “Mr. Versatile Show” would surely go down as a music concert of a kind, never seen in the annals of the country’s entertainment industry.
Based on his Mr. Versatile song, which according to him is the only song in the world made with eight different music genres, the Rap Dactor says the concert incorporates three broader segments of a dance-music-and- theatre show and further broken down into several parts that will gracefully take patrons through the rise of his career. He added that he wanted to do something different from what is often done during concerts.
The show is being produced by Roverman Production and sponsored by MTN. A representative of Roverman Production talks about why they are on board the show. Efie Nkrumah told showbiz that the Mr. Versatile show and Roveman Production have so much in common, that is why they are producing the show. “The Rap Dactor is re-enacting his Video clip, Mr. Vesatile on stage with music, dance and theatre with a live audience expecting to be thrilled”, she said.
Okyeame Kwame also said the building up of anticipation for the show will be a reality show on its own which will be shown on the various entertainment channels to build expectation for the main show scheduled for the 14th of December this year.
