The Joy News Channel on Multi TV on Monday launched the Midday Brief, which will be the Channel’s Flagship live midday news bulletin. It is the first of an hourly midday news package, designed to reach our discerning audience with the latest, detailed and all angles covered news during their lunch time.
Monday’s Midday Brief was anchored by seasoned Anchor Keminni Nyamanni Amanor, whose style of engaging the audience is strategized to change the lunch time news experience.
Producer of the Midday Brief, Martha Crentsil-Acquah, who is JOYNEWS Assignment Editor, puts it this way; “ We aim at bringing our cherished audience, a package of rapid, hot and sizzling information within time and space. Don’t forget, we are changing the face of news with technology, so every aspect of the midday news will bring you to that refreshing reality that will ‘revolutionarize’ your lunch time news experience”.
Coming on the back of the brand reputation of JOYNEWS, the Midday Brief is segmented into social stories, midday business, Sports and Showbiz briefs and Election Headquarters, which covers election related, political stories and analysis.
The “Social stories” segment brings the news as it breaks, interspersed with Live video interviews from location. Monday’s breaking news covered the Graphic Road accident. A Wellness section in this segment also brings you one or more tips about how to stay fit. Monday’s Wellness section focused on getting good eye sight eating more of yellow corn.
Midday Business covers the latest trends in business, while the Sports Brief contains briefs of major sports stories from the week: Glo Premier League fixtures, AFCON and European Sports and other Sports stories making the headlines.
Showbiz brief covers events that took place in the week, all packaged in one, including latest international Showbiz news.
The last 20 to 30 minutes of the Midday Brief is dedicated to the Election Headquarters. Here, we analyze the latest elections related stories, political stories and issues bordering mainly on this year’s Election. All the angles are covered with relevant expert analysis to help our audience read in-between the lines.
In an interview with JOYNEWS, after the first bulletin, Managing News Editor, Maryann Acolatse said, she expects the Midday Brief to dominate the lunch time news agenda with the quality and depth it brings on board. “Our audience should expect a well balanced meal of all the news making the headlines, and balanced analysis to get all the angles covered. You know, with the quality associated with the JOYNEWS Brand, your lunch time won’t be the same”, she said.
The Midday Brief, starting from Monday October 15, will run every weekday at 12 NOON
