Workers of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) have dispelled media reports they planned to resign en block.
Sections of the media claim that because of government's failure to increase the salaries of staff of NACOB, they had all planed to resign en mass.
But the Public Relations Officer of NACOB, Mr. Opoku Francis told Joy News that although salary levels were low in the organisation, there was no planned mass resignation by workers.
He said the government had agreed to adjust the salaries of the workers.
If you work in any environment and you think that the salaries are very low, it is within your right to advise yourself.
“Since 1999, Narcotics Control Board has been on a different salary scale” because even thought they were given the opportunity to move to the Universal Salary Structure, the decided not to, he explained.
Mr. Francis said new conditions of service that a new management had put together had been approved by the governing Board and sent the Finance Ministry for action.
