Delegates of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will today vote to retain or reject sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) who are seeking to contest the December elections.
The parliamentary primaries will take place simultaneously in all regions except Greater Accra Region.
The contest is expected to be filled with tension as some constituencies will be keenly contested.
Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Finance Minister, Fiifi Kwetey and National Propaganda Secretary, Richard Quashigah are all eying seats in the Volta region.
Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, George Lawson, told Joynews all is set for Saturday’s exercise.
Meanwhile the Hohoe North and Buem Constituencies in the Volta Region will not take part in today’s primaries.
Some disqualified aspirants have obtained an injunction to halt the exercise and regional secretary Amegashie Viglo says they will obey the court order.
