The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold a town hall meeting on Tuesday, November 30, at the KNUST Great Hall, Kumasi, at 1 pm.
In a statement signed by the National Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, he stated that the event is to discuss the 2022 budget statement and economic policy, which was delivered to Parliament on Wednesday, November 17.
The Budget dubbed the ‘Awudie’ budget by the opposition has faced strong rejection from the Minority side, who say it is insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians, especially amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
The NDC has announced its resolve to vote against the budget.
The meeting in Kumasi is geared to be the first in a series of town hall meetings.
This town hall meeting is being organised under the auspices of the National Communications Bureau of the Party.
It is intended to inform the general public about the content of the 2022 budget statement, what it means or holds for Ghanaians, and the position of the NDC on same.
“The program will be attended by the media and various stakeholder groups who will have an opportunity to share their thoughts on the 2022 Budget Statement.
“The general public is therefore encouraged to look forward to these riveting and constructive engagements which will be streamed live on several media platforms,” the statement from the party said.
