Former president John Agyekum Kufuor is convinced of a resounding victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Wednesday's elections, predicting a win in five out of the 10 Regions in the country.
The NPP will win more votes in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions as well as share the other five regions with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), he said.
Speaking to teeming NPP supporters at the party's last rally before the crucial December 7 election held at the International Trade Fair Centre in Accra, Mr Kufuor said Ghanaians will witness prudent economic management of the nation's resources if the NPP comes to office.
The two-term President from 2000 to 2008 said the people who helped him to improve the fortunes of Ghanaians are still ready to unturn the situation generated by the NDC.
Touching on the change the NPP has promised, Mr Kufuor recounted a story in the Bible to demonstrate the need for Ghanaians to embrace the party's flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said Ghana through the NPP will experience development and prosperity in the same manner God through Joshua aided the Israelites to cross River Jordan into the promise land.
The former leader of the largest opposition party in Ghana who confessed that he was not an ardent Bible reader in the mornings shared his experience with the thousands of supporters.

He spoke of his dilemma when he woke up this morning not knowing what message to share with the rank and file of the party at the last rally before the election.
Mr Kufuor said he was directed to read the Bible for a message to share with the people, admitting he could not have been luckier than his random opening landing him in the book of Joshua.
According to him, the NPP like Joshua has listened to the voice and directions of God and will apply same to deliver the people.
God showed Joshua that he didn’t need wealth to overcome his enemies but walking with the almighty for directions on how to win his battles against the enemy, Mr Kufuor narrated.
He said Joshua listened to God and never drew a sword, bemoaning how Ghana is so blessed yet the people are struggling and suffering like the Israelites.
Mr Kufuor believes the December 7 election like the numerous winds of change blowing across the continent and the world is going to be a “historic week in the annals of Ghana.”
Ghana is at the crossroads and will need the right leadership to steer it to the right destination, he said adding Ghanaians must come out and vote for their destinies.
He lamented how Ghana has missed its way when it was rubbing shoulders with the big countries of the world due to the governing NDC’s "maladministration" of the economy and the numerous resources the country is endowed with.
The former president, however, assured Ghanaians that all is not lost as the competent hands that helped him steer affairs for eight years are still around to lend their support to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his running mate to take Ghana to the promise land.
