Mr Yaw Buansi Opoku, a Quantity Surveying Consultant, has blamed parents for the recent upsurge of immorality and criminal activities among the youth of the country. He said some parents spent most of their time engaging in economic activities while they spend little or no time at all with their children at home.Mr Opoku was speaking at the graduation and prize-giving day of California Star School Complex on the theme: “Education, the Best Legacy for the child", in Accra at the weekend. He noted that child training should be the collective duty of parents and teachers, saying it was wrong to shift the responsibility to teachers alone.Mr Edward Manu, Proprietor, called on parents to pay their children’s school fees on time and provide them with their basic needs to facilitate teaching and learning. He appealed to the Ghana Education Service to help the school acquire text books and learning materials.Mr Manu appealed to individuals and organisations to aid the school in building a computer laboratory to ensure teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology. The school children treated the audience to cultural display and those who excelled academically received prizes.Source: GNA
