The Head Coach of the Black Stars, Goran Plavi Stevanovic says he will start most of the fringe players in Ghana’s international friendly with South Korea on Tuesday June 7, 2011.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s afternoon programme Fire for Fire on Monday from the team’s base in Korea, Coach Goran said he understood the enormity of the game at hand and will do his best for the team to meet its purpose for the friendly.
He however stated that, the results of the match did not really matter to him provided he meets his expectation.
He explained that this was a perfect opportunity for him to assess the fringe players in a match situation.
Coach Goran also said in doing that he will also get some new trusted hands that will be perfect replacements for the regulars.
Meanwhile, the team has had its first training session ahead of the match tomorrow at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
All but Ernest Sowah who is down with Malaria took part in the training.
The players have promised Ghanaians a wonderful match tomorrow.
Asamoah Gyan who scored against them in the two previous matches said he is fired up for the game after missing the last two competitive matches of the team.
Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, the new midfield dynamo and dependable defender Isaac Vorsah who both scored in last Fridays Nation Cup Qualifier with Congo Brazzaville at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium have also promised to give off their best.
The team captain Richard Olele Kingson also used the opportunity to apologise to Ghanaians for his howler in last Friday’s game and promised not to repeat it again.
The match kicks-off 8pm Korean time and 11:00 GMT tomorrow at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province.
