This Saturday's edition of JoyNews' Newsfile will host Communication Minister Sam George to discuss his approval by Parliament despite strong opposition from the Minority.
The Minority cited concerns over his past remarks criticising former President Akufo-Addo and Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
However, the Majority Caucus rejected this reasoning and expressed disappointment over the Minority’s opposition, arguing that the Ningo-Prampram MP’s nomination was justified and that the objections against him were untenable.
The show will also examine the chaos that erupted during the ministerial vetting process, the committee set up to investigate the disturbances, and potential disciplinary actions against the Members of Parliament that would be found culpable after the committee report is submitted.
Finally, the analysis programme will assess the government’s renewed fight against illegal mining popularly known as 'galamsey'.
With President Mahama’s stern warning to his appointees against illegal mining, how far is he willing to go? Could this truly put his presidency on the line?
