Police in Kumasi have arrested two persons suspected to be behind the murder of a middle-aged woman at Abrepo, a suburb of the metropolis.
The woman is reported to have left her matrimonial home at a village near Dunkwaw in the Central Region to visit her in-laws following a quarrel with the husband.
The Divisional Crime Officer at Suame, DSP Kweku Duah explaining how the two came to be linked with the murder, said the two were family members of the husband of the deceased and exhibited suspicious signs.
He said the two claimed somewhere around 3am they heard the baby of the deceased crying so they went into her room to find out what was happening but met the woman’s absence.
The suspects said they decided to search for her around the house and only found her butchered to death at about 6am.
DSP Duah said there were inconsistencies in the narration of the suspects so the police decided to arrest them to assist in investigations.
